  1. Drinking Coffee Can Fight Depression and Make You Happier

Depression is a serious mental illness that reduces the quality of someone’s life. For example, 4.1% of people in America are suffering from depression. Depression is incredibly common. It’s a difficult disorder to shake off but it is possible. Drinking coffee will definitely help someone shake off this mental disorder. In a Harvard Study, women who drank 4 cups of coffee a day had a 20% lower risk of becoming depressed. Another study showed that people who drank 4 cups of coffee a day were 53% less likely to die as a result of suicide.

I know what you are thinking, “what a depressing way of starting this blog”. Well, it’s the truth. Coffee will definitely energize you and make you feel more enthusiastic about your day. This sort of positivity will help you improve the quality of your life and shake off negative thoughts and be more happy. This is why coffee is important, because it makes people more happy.

2) Coffee Improves Your Energy Levels

One of the most common things we all feel right after the first sip of coffee is the surge of energy that follows when we drink coffee. Everyone knows coffee will make you energetic and yet we barely utilize that knowledge to transform our own lives. Coffee contains caffeine which is a stimulant. Once you drink coffee, the caffeine enters your blood stream and from there it travels to enter your brain. Once in your brain, it blocks something called the inhibitory neurotransmitter adenosine. This leads to the increase of hormones like dopamine and norepinephrine and this leads to more neurons being fired. Finally, this means brain function will increase because your mood, energy levels, reaction times, memory (etc.) all increase.

3) Coffee Burns Fat

It’s no coincidence that in every commercial fat-burning supplement you will always find caffeine. This is because caffeine is one the most natural substances that burns fat. Some studies have showed that caffeine increases metabolism from 3-11%. This is a great number. Other studies have even showed that coffee can increase metabolism up to 10% for obese individuals and a whooping 29% for lean individuals. So if you are looking to loose weight or maintain your current figure then maybe coffee is the way to go forward for you.

4) Coffee Reduces Risk of Cancers

This is amazing since humanity as a whole have been in the fight against cancer for such a long time. This might not rid a patient who has cancer within their system but it can prevent people from getting cancer in the first place. Coffee prevents prostrate cancer, liver cancer, endometrial cancer as well as some cancers from the mouth and throat. However, the study found this in people who drank 3-6 cups of coffee a day. This could prove to be too much since someone who drank 4-6 cups of coffee a day wouldn’t sleep properly. Furthermore, if they added a lot of sugar for each cup this would mean that they would be consuming too much sugar and might gain other health issues as a result. It is important not to have too many cups of coffee if someone wants to prevents cancer.

5) Coffee May Help You Live a Longer Life

Great right? Living a longer life? Getting more done? If you drink coffee regularly then this might be possible. After all, coffee drinkers are avoiding many diseases so it makes sense that they should be living longer lives. Many studies have shown that coffee drinkers have a lower risk of death. In two huge studies (which will be referenced below in the reference section) for male coffee drinkers a 20% reduced risk of death was found. For female coffee drinkers a 26% reduced risk of death was found. Moreover, if you are diabetic then this will be useful information for you.

6) Coffee May Protect Your Liver

Your liver is a really vital and fundamental organ within your body. This is because it carries out hundreds of important functions to keep your body going. For example the liver filters the blood which is coming from the digestive tract before passing that blood to the rest of your body. The liver also detoxifies all sorts of chemicals and metabolizes drugs. In doing so, the liver secretes bile that ends up back in the intestines. There are many diseases which threaten the liver. These diseases include hepatitis, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis as well as many others. What coffee will do is protect your body from cirrhosis (as well as other diseases) as people who drink 4 or more cups of coffee have a whooping 80% reduced risk of diseases of the liver like cirrhosis.

7) Full of Nutrients

Lastly, coffee is full of nutrients and drinking coffee has many perks. For example, a regular cup of black coffee is so low in calories that an entire cup only has 2 calories. Furthermore, coffee contains a lot of antioxidants. For example, coffee beans contain something called penophenols which serves as an antioxidant. Within the human body there are waste products called free radicals and antioxidants help remove these free radicals from the body. It is important to remove these free radicals as they are toxic and may cause inflammation. Inflammation is dangerous because experts have found that inflammation causes various types of metabolic syndrome which lead to type 2 diabetes and obesity. Coffee contains the antioxidants which protects people from metabolic syndrome. These 7 reasons in total show you why you should drink coffee.
